"Flocking" Youth Fund Raiser 2007
The Youth Group’s plan for raising funds for their 2007 summer work camp was very interesting. They purchased 40 pink flamingos and eagerly shared them with the congregation. Here’s how it worked:
If you wanted to surprise someone in the church, you simply told one of the youth that you want to “flock” someone, and they asked you for $20 to do the deed. That person would then have a “flock” of 20 flamingos land in their yard, and for two days they would “nest” outside that person’s home.
If you desired to be insured from “flocking,” you simply told one of the youth that you wish to purchase “flock insurance.” They would ask you for $30, and you would be protected from “flocking.”
